Gas Fire Pits

Get a Gas Fire Pit That Transforms Your Outdoor Space

There’s nothing as convenient as a gas-powered fire pit, igniting at the flip of a switch and completely changing the ambiance in your yard. You get consistent flame and real heat without any of the upkeep that comes with burning wood. No smoke ruining people’s night, either!

We stock the top models from the most trusted fire pit manufacturers in the nation, always at the lowest price - guaranteed. Call or text our team at 833-528-5591 and we'll help you figure out the right setup for your home or business.

Propane or Natural Gas: Which is Right For You?

There are two types of gas a fire pit can run on - either propane or natural gas.

A natural gas fire pit ties into your home's gas supply and simplifies everything from the moment it’s installed. There’s nothing to refill or swap out. You will just have to hire a licensed professional for the initial connection.

On the other hand, a propane fire pit runs on LP tanks and doesn't need a permanent line. You can put the fire pit anywhere on your patio and move it as you see fit. A lot of the models we carry have a hidden propane tank fire pit functionality so they look really clean.

Our Favorite Gas Outdoor Fire Pits

The Outdoor Plus Square Cabo Corten Steel Fire Pit

Starting at $2,618

Corten steel weathers on purpose, eventually developing this beautiful rust-orange patina that actually protects the metal underneath from further corrosion. We think it’ll look better 5-10 years down the road than the day you install it, aging gracefully over the decades.

The Cabo comes in three square sizes from 36 to 60 inches, all producing 65,000 BTU. Five ignition options give you everything from basic match lit to full electronic ignition. The Outdoor Plus builds each one in-house in the US and backs the burner with a lifetime warranty.

Warming Trends AON Powder-Coated Steel Rectangular Fire Table w/ Crossfire Brass Burner

Starting at $3,792

The Crossfire Brass Burner is honestly what makes this one stand out. It creates taller, fuller flames than your typical stainless steel burner. The brass construction is built to last, too.

BTU output ranges from 170,000 on the 48-inch model to 290,000 on the 72-inch configuration. It’s the strongest fire pit we stock here in our catalog. It comes in three rectangular sizes and five power-coat colors. The patented WaterStop fitting keeps water and debris out of the gas connection, so this pit will last years without issue!

The Outdoor Plus 24" Tall Unity Powder Coated Fire Pit

Starting at $3,858

Most fire pits sit low to the ground, but this one stands at two feet tall - putting it at table height and giving it a totally different presence on your patio. The CSA-certified electronic ignition is tested against storms and wind up to 55 mph, with auto-reignition if the flame blows out. Propane configurations store the tank inside the base for a seamless appearance.

You can choose from three round sizes, from 48 inches to 72 inches. BTU output ranges from 65,000 up to 190,000 on the largest model. Over 15 powder coat finishes are available.

Frequently asked questions

Is a gas fire pit worth it?

For sure! It’s the best way to get outdoor heat and ambiance without the hassle of burning real wood. Gas lights at the press of a button and doesn’t produce any of that frustrating ash or smoke. It’s more expensive upfront than a basic wood-burning fire pit, sure. But it’s worth every penny!

What is the best gas fire pit?

We love the Cabo Corten Steel model from The Outdoor Plus, and the Warming Trends AON. It all comes down to what you care about most in a fire pit, and what actually fits your space/budget. Let our customer service team give you a tailored recommendation.

What to look for when buying a gas fire pit?

Fuel type first - do you want something you install once and forget about (natural gas), or something that you can move around at your leisure (propane)? Then think about size and shape to make sure it fits the area you plan on putting it in. From there, it’s just about weighing features and cost to see what aligns with your budget and preferences. We can help you navigate every nuanced detail to pick the perfect fire pit.

What are the different types of gas fire pits?

Beyond natural gas vs propane, there are round, rectangular, and square models. There are also different material classifications - mostly metal vs concrete. We carry all these variations under one digital roof, right here at Royal Fire Pits.

How to maintain a gas fire pit?

Keep the burner ports clear and cover the unit when it's not in use. Check gas connections once a year for leaks and swap out fire media when it starts to look dull. That's about it for most models. Super easy to take care of!

Can I toast marshmallows over my gas fire pit?

If you want to, sure! Natural gas and propane both burn clean, so you don’t have to worry about the fuel source. Some people have their hesitations about the fire media and any coatings on the burner/glass that may not be safe for food contact, though.

Are gas fire pits safe to install under covered areas?

Only some models are rated for this. You also need proper ventilation and plenty of overhead clearance. Every brand we carry has its own minimum clearance distances. You can find those clearly listed in the install specs - or ask our team for personalized support.
