Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between a fire pit and a fire table?
A fire pit is an open vessel with a burner. A fire table is that PLUS a flat surface around the flame so you can rest drinks, plates, or anything else on it. It’s a more functional piece of outdoor furniture that happens to elevate the vibe in your yard at the same time.
Do I need a concrete or metal fire table?
We carry both. It mostly comes down to style. A concrete fire table is much heavier and brings a more textured, grandiose look to a space. It blends seamlessly with stone patios and natural landscaping. It just looks more upscale. A metal fire table is crafted from either powder-coated steel or stainless steel and looks a bit more modern. It’s more practical to move around since it’s more lightweight, too.
What size fire table will fit my space?
You just need 3 feet of clearance on all sides for seating and airflow. We have options ranging from 30” all the way up to 48”. Get a suggestion based on your exact space today.
Is a round, square, or rectangular fire table better?
We love the way round fire tables encourage conversation with everyone facing each other, and everyone gets to enjoy the flame equally. A square table is the most compact option for smaller setups. A rectangular table is great for longer layouts, be it a restaurant patio or pool deck.
Where can I put my new fire table?
Anywhere you have ample clearance from structures, overhangs, and plants. We recommend a concrete surface but they can go on any level ground, as long as you comply with any local codes.
Should I use natural gas or propane?
A natural gas fire table is more convenient in the long run as it connects to your home's gas line for unlimited fuel. But a propane fire table is simpler to get started with and can be moved anywhere since you’re not tethered to a gas line. Same flame effects either way.
What maintenance is needed?
Just cover it when you’re not going to use it and make sure you keep the burner ports clear (we like to use compressed air or a soft brush). That’s pretty much it!
Can I cook on a fire table?
No - these are made for ambiance and warmth. The burner is decorative (not rated for grilling or direct food contact).
Who makes the best fire pits?
We personally think an Elementi fire table is the best money can buy right now - but any manufacturer you see in our catalog was handpicked after a strict vetting process. Get a personalized recommendation from our customer service team!
