Yes. They save you the hassle of having to refill propane tanks and bring your per-use cost way down since natural gas is typically cheaper than propane. The one catch is you’re hooked into your gas line and won’t be able to move the fire table as easily as you could a propane fire table.

Is it cheaper to run natural gas or propane?

Natural gas is quite a bit cheaper than propane. However, you have to have a gas line nearby for this to be a viable option. Otherwise, you’ll need to account for that in calculating your cost. 

Can any fire table be converted to natural gas?

Pretty much every model we carry is available in both natural gas and propane configurations. You choose the fuel type at checkout. Converting after purchase is a bit more involved, but it’s definitely possible with a lot of the models we carry (not all). Call us if you’re unsure.

Yes. This is essential for stepping your home’s gas line down to the pressure that the burner needs. Most fire tables that run on natural gas come equipped with one, but double-check before checkout. Using the wrong regulator or foregoing it can damage the burner and make the flame burn erratically. 

What size natural gas fire table should I buy? 

That all depends on your space and how many people you envision sitting around the table. You just want to leave yourself a good 3-4 feet of clearance around the unit. Most 36-inch models can comfortably seat four people. 48-60 inches gives you room for 6-8 people. 

What are the other installation requirements? 

You’ll hire a licensed plumber or gas fitter to run the line. Other than that, you just want to make sure you’re placing your fire table on a flat, non-combustible surface with ample clearance from walls, plants, and other combustible materials.
